Risk

First, Hydrogen is the most important element for this project but is highly combustible. This means that there is a risk of an explosion within the metro motor. To offset this risk, we think it is important to follow all the security measures needed and offering facilities with adequate ventilation and leak detection systems. We would even consider special sensors for the hydrogen flame, as this flame is not visible and it multiplies fastly.

Price

Second, our probably biggest challenge is the price. We understand the price of this system is very high, but we also believe that investing in a good future and betting on more sustainable ways of living is the way to go and that in the long run would mean less expense. We are aware that if Hydro were to be built we would have to adapt, think of a more accessible system, and probably start with a hybrid system that could slowly transition into a completely hydrogen-based transportation system.

Challenges

Third, we know each city presents different challenges for Hydro. Although we have deeply studied and thought about Bogotá’s characteristics and considerations, we are aware that each city has different challenges that we would love to tackle in our fight to make cities lungs for the world.

Community

Lastly, we want to create a change not only in the systems but on the way people interact with them. We want to promote life at each station by designing a green environment and making people's beliefs greener. We want our community to respect the plants that are part of the system, and motivate people to take a green means of transport. But most importantly, we seek justice in the cities where the air is only for a few. We want social equity, starting with the basic need for air.
